Product Overview
Safeguard and shield your valuable plants, buildings, and agricultural structures from the harsh, scorching rays of the sun with our professional-grade 70% Black Extra Strength Monofilament Shade Cloth. Specifically engineered for hot regions and intense solar exposure, this heavy-duty UV-treated knitted cloth is a favorite among commercial growers due to its rugged durability, exceptional wind resistance, and ability to retain its elasticity even under the most punishing heat.
Crafted from premium high-density monofilament fibers, this shade canopy offers vastly superior tensile strength compared to standard tape-knit alternatives. Thanks to its advanced lockstitch knitted design, this heavy-duty netting is guaranteed not to unravel or fray when cut, allowing you to easily customize, slice, or trim the cloth to fit your unique greenhouse, nursery, or livestock shelter layout perfectly.

Professional Installation Tips
Make sure your hoop house is fully covered with our shade cloth, or loosely cover the area you want to protect. Secure the cloth tightly to your frame using heavy-duty fabric clips every 24 to 36 inches. Alternatively, for maximum security against high winds, tuck and secure the fabric directly into your existing lock channel using standard spring wiggle wire. (Installation clips, lock channels, and spring wires are sold separately).
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q1: What does “70% shade” mean for my plants?
A: A 70% shade rating means the fabric blocks 70% of direct solar heat and ultraviolet radiation, allowing only 30% of natural light transmission to pass through. This setup is ideal for non-production areas, temperature cooling for field workers, livestock shading, heat-sensitive storage, or heavily sun-exposed nursery structures in extremely hot climates.
Q2: Will this shade cloth fray or fall apart if I cut it into smaller sizes?
A: No. Unlike cheap woven fabric, our premium shade cloth features an engineered monofilament lockstitch knit. It is specifically designed not to unravel or run when sliced, allowing you to safely trim holes or cut it into custom panels without losing structural integrity.
Q3: Does this product include installation clips or spring wire?
A: No, installation hardware is not included. To secure the cloth properly over your greenhouse frame, we highly recommend purchasing separate shade cloth clips or installing it directly into an aluminum lock channel using spring wire.
Q4: Why is monofilament shade cloth better than tape-knit cloth?
A: Monofilament is spun from round, high-tensile single-strand fibers, providing far greater physical strength, superior elasticity retention under extreme heat, and an extended life expectancy (up to 16 years) compared to standard flat-ribbon tape-knit shading nets.
